Una estancia corta pero para repetir sin dudarlo. Nada más llegar, el equipo de recepción nos recibe con agua fresca que para el calor venía bastante bien. Subimos a la habitación a dejar las maletas para bajar a cenar. Cenamos en el bufett del hotel. Oscar y el resto del equipo, nos otorgaron un servicio de calidad del cual no podemos decir nada malo. Subimos a la parte alta para disfrutar de las vistas y unos buenos cócteles en Hawa Rooftop, y sin lugar a dudas, fue una experiencia única. 100% recomendado.

This hotel was lovely! I had such a lovely stay! I stayed for a week. The staff were incredible! So friendly! So helpful! THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT - I’m dairy intolerant + I don’t eat bread and there was still plenty of options for me! The hotels location is perfect as well, the amount of different delicious restaurants around was insane - there was so much to choose from! The hotel itself was very clean, very modern, and was very satisfying to the eye! My room was snug but roomy at the same time and was perfect for my stay! The swimming pool was always clean and the view from the hotels top floor was incredible! The sea was about a two second walk away from the hotel! It was easy to find! Just perfect! My partner and I stayed here at the end of June. After a walk around Puerto de la Cruz, we returned to our room to rest after a long day. However, due to the heat, we decided to turn on the air conditioning as the room was very hot, but we realized it wasn't working. We called reception and decided to open the terrace door because we were sweating constantly. To our surprise, reception didn't offer any solution (there's no night technician and they don't have a fan). To make matters worse, with the terrace door open, the room filled with mosquitoes, so we tried to close it, but it wasn't possible because it got stuck. Seeing that we weren't given any answers or solutions, we asked for complaint forms, and reception told us they didn't have them and that we'd have to request them in the morning. This, without a doubt, leaves much to be desired for a chain like Silken. In short, a horrible night and an experience I wouldn't wish on anyone.

This hotel completely failed us. What was supposed to be a relaxing, carefully planned birthday trip turned into a stressful, disorganized mess — entirely due to the way Silken Saaj Maar handled our arrival and the days that followed. We arrived at the hotel late at night on May 31st, around 23:15, after a full day of travel. I had booked and prepaid a room via Secret Escapes, and we showed our confirmation email upon arrival. Despite this, the receptionist insisted there was no booking in our name. No effort was made to check emails, no phone calls, no apologies — just a cold “not our problem” attitude and a suggestion to call the booking provider ourselves. This was past 11 PM, on a saturday night. There was no way to reach anyone at that hour. We were told the hotel was fully booked, but that we could pay for a standard room if we wanted to stay. Left with no other options, we paid again — this time for a room that was nothing like what we booked. That “standard” room was, frankly, unacceptable. It had no door separating the toilet/bathroom from the bed — just an open space. The only window was inside the shower stall and faced an inner shaft with views of other people’s bathrooms. No daylight, no privacy. The air conditioning didn’t work. The bed was narrow and uncomfortable. We barely slept and felt like we were in a basement. This is not what you expect from a hotel advertising itself as stylish and modern — it felt more like a bad budget hostel. Instead of toasting to my birthday at midnight, I was sitting on the bed in tears, unsure if we’d be forced to spend the rest of the trip finding new accommodation. That night, we also had to cancel an excursion we had booked, not knowing what would happen the next day. It was a terrible start to a trip that had taken weeks of planning — especially difficult for me as someone who is autistic and relies heavily on preparation and routine. The next afternoon — after we went back to the reception ourselves — a different staff member had checked their emails and saw that yes, our booking had been there all along. He was kind, professional, and helpful — the one bright spot in a sea of poor service. He told us that guest relations would follow up with us on June 2nd to address the situation. That did not happen. Meanwhile, on June 1st, we booked a spa treatment package (€270) for June 2nd. We paid immediately, assuming it included access to the spa as most packages do. While out on a tour, we received a WhatsApp message from the spa asking if we could move our appointment time. We agreed without reading it too carefully. Teleurstellende ervaring bij Silken Saaj Hotel Tenerife door Pablo van receptie Wij hadden een luxe kamer geboekt bij Silken Saaj Hotel in Tenerife voor de verjaardag van mijn vrouw. Alles was goed geregeld: een kamer met mooi uitzicht en champagne om middernacht op bed. Maar vanaf het moment dat we aankwamen, ging het mis. We kwamen rond 22:00 uur aan na een lange vlucht en autorit. Het hotel zag er mooi uit, maar bij de receptie werden we geholpen door een jonge man, Pablo. Hij was onvriendelijk, ongeïnteresseerd en deed erg arrogant. We lieten hem onze reservering, bevestiging en betaalbewijs zien. Toch zei hij dat er geen boeking was. In plaats van ons te helpen, kregen we alleen de optie om opnieuw een kamer te boeken voor ‘walk-in’-tarief. We moesten zélf contact opnemen met het bedrijf waar we geboekt hadden. Er werd ons niet eens een telefoon aangeboden, terwijl wij uit het buitenland komen en geen goed bereik hadden. Mijn vrouw zat huilend bij de receptie, maar Pablo deed alsof het hem niets kon schelen. Deze medewerker loste het netjes op. We kregen alsnog de juiste kamer op de bovenste verdieping, met uitzicht zoals geboekt. Ook kregen we het geld van de eerste nacht terug. Hij zei dat iemand van public relations contact met ons zou opnemen. Wij reizen vaak en over de hele wereld. We begrijpen dat fouten kunnen gebeuren, maar het gaat erom hoe je ermee omgaat. Bij aankomst werden we gewoon slecht behandeld. Gelukkig was het personeel bij het ontbijt wél vriendelijk. Vooral Aaron deed het geweldig: hij zorgde voor een mooie verjaardagstaart voor mijn vrouw. Ook een dame van de spa die Vlaams sprak was erg vriendelijk. Een dag later ging ik weer naar de receptie, dit keer omdat de airco op kamer 501 niet werkte. Het was 21:00 uur en Pablo stond er weer. Hij keek meteen geïrriteerd toen ik iets vroeg. Hij zei dat hij het zou doorgeven aan de technische dienst. Prima, dachten we. I had such a relaxing vacation here, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure that our trip was delightful! We got upgraded to an ocean view without asking, and everything was superb from the spa/gym to the rooftop views!
